Why help build leaders through summer camp?
By supporting Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids, you will empower Toronto youth facing financial and social barriers through the transformational experience of summer camp. Camp exposes kids to nature and allows them to discover their full potential.
You will also help kids develop 21st century skills like leadership, tenacity and resilience, all while being surrounded by beautiful Canadian wilderness. The settings of Amici’s 42 partner camps encourage children to explore, take healthy risks and expand the limits of their abilities. A typical daily camp program is action-packed, challenging young people to go out of their comfort zone, in turn exposing them to new ideas, new people and new ways of thriving in the world. Life skills such as leadership and self-confidence are developed over time, which is why your support is so meaningful: it means Amici can continue its commitment to send young people to camp for as long as they areold enough to attend. After graduating from Amici’s camp program, some join their camps as staff. Amici also supports older campers through The Compass Leadership Program – a first of its kind program that transforms camp skills into life skills.
