About Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto

Big Brothers Big Sisters is Canada's longest serving child and youth mentoring organization. We have been active in Toronto for over 100 years and have created an enduring legacy of changing the lives of vulnerable youth and children by providing them with a caring, positive adult role model.

Many children and youth in Toronto are not reaching their full potential. Faced with prolonged adversity creates toxic stress in the brain that can negatively impact development. With the support of a mentor, these risks can be reduced or even avoided, and youth can reach their full potential. We believe in mentorship as an essential service that allows us to build thriving communities by empowering lives.

About Young Leaders

BBBST’s Young Leaders (YL) is a group of resourceful, community minded, and motivated young professionals who have an interest in engaging more with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto. BBBST looks to the Young Leaders as volunteers who will use their established skill sets to take a leadership role in the development and execution of special event-based fundraisers, as well as creating awareness in the community about BBBST’s mission and the need for positive mentors for children and youth. YL’s mission is to expand BBBST’s community presence through each member’s professional and social contacts as ambassadors for BBBST, and to support the organization’s mission by focusing on outreach, recruitment and fundraising.

Why Paddle Royale?

Paddle Royale is more than just an awesome and highly competitive, table tennis tournament. It's also an opportunity for the community to raise funds to support the life-changing mentoring programs that serve Toronto's most at-risk children and youth.
