How do I participate in Amici’s Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids?

This year’s Canoe Heads for Kids is going to be extra special and totally unique! You have the opportunity to make Saturday May 30 entirely YOU! We suggest you either:

  1. Sub 15 km of an urban canoe trip for 15 km of running, walking, kayaking, you name it!
  2. Sub 15 km for 15 camp-related activities. Feel free to use our checklist or make your own:

Don’t forget to post on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and more along the way and ask for your network’s support!

Busy on Saturday, May 30 already? No problem! Feel free to register for Amici’s Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids and pick your own date to host your virtual event.

How do I raise money to support Amici campers?

That’s a fabulous question! The secret to fundraising is to ASK! There are a number of different ways you can ask:

  1. Utilize your participant centre and send emails to your network, detailing the impact of camp and why you are choosing to raise money to support campers in Amici’s Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids.
  2. Post on social media! Share your pesrsonal fundraising page and talk about what camp means to you and how you intend to make Saturday, May 30th extra special in support of Amici campers.
  3. Make some phone calls to loved ones. Let them know about Amici’s Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids and ask them to support your efforts.
  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3.

How many team members to a team?

There is no limit for your Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids team!

What do I need to bring with me?

Though you won’t need a canoe this year, we encourage you to get really creative! Unbox your old camp gear, dust off that tent and be sure to snap a photo (or 15) for the gram!

After you’ve selected the right option above for you, follow the prompts and you’ll soon be a registered Virtual Canoe Head. If you are a returning participant, you can sign in with your previous year’s username and password to make the registration process easier!

Remember that in order to register as a team member of an existing team, your team captain must have already registered your team. If you can’t find your captain or team name in the registration process, please contact your captain and kindly remind them to register your team, or you can contact Amici at charlie@amicicharity.org and we’ll give you a hand!

How much does it cost to participate?

There is a registration fee that participants will pay upon registration. This fee provides you with an event t-shirt that we will try to send you before event day. This way, you can wear your t-shirt with pride on May 30.

The cost to participate in Amici’s Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids is $30.
