2021 Move to Give Update: Over the past year, the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka and our community were dramatically impacted by COVID 19. Despite having to cancel Move to Give April 2020, we are excited to announce the 7th annual #MOVEtoGIVE will be taking place September 19th - 25 th, 2021. As our top priority is to ensure the health and safety of the communities we serve, this year’s MOVEtoGIVE will be virtual.

- As the largest provider of licensed child care in our community, we welcome children from over 4,000 families across 75 licensed child care sites
- We look forward to providing a safe space for 5,000 children to learn new skills and make new friends through our Day Camp Programs
It is the opportunity to CONNECT
- Whether it is a child care centre, swimming pool, or employment centre, the Y creates a safe space for human interaction and connection
- The Y looks for creative ways to connect people with programs and services online when face-to-face interaction is impossible
It is the opportunity to TRANSFORM
- The Y connects with over 5,000 unemployed and underemployed individuals each year, supporting them on their journey to meaningful employment opportunities
- The Y provides youth with opportunities to develop new skills and build positive social connections as they transition into adulthood
- YMCA Health, Fitness and Aquatics centres connect thousands of people of all ages to the supports they need to live a healthy lifestyle. 1 in 10 YMCA members receives financial assistance to access our programs as they can't afford to pay full fees

- Y members belong to something more than just a gym - they are part of a movement committed to building healthy communities by inspiring people to reach their full potential
- The Y offers safe places for youth to be with peers and the opportunity to express themselves
- The Y provides the opportunity for people to support their neighbours by contributing to annual campaigns that make programs and services available to everyone
The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka provides a wide variety of programs and services across the communities of Simcoe, Muskoka and Parry Sound. Whether it is through health and fitness programs, swimming lessons, licensed child care, employment/literacy services, immigrant services, leadership training for the not-for-profit sector, outreach and counselling programs for youth or camps for children, youth and families, Y programs inspire people to reach their full potential.
This past year has been a difficult one for our YMCA. However, because of the financial support of our donors and corporate sponsors, we have been able to reshape and reimagine the way that we work with people throughout the pandemic. The YMCA has continued to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our communities. The Y remains committed to building healthy communities across Simcoe County, Muskoka and Parry Sound. Throughout the pandemic, the Y has:
- Provided licenced Child Care and Before & After School Care to support working families
- Connected people to free virtual programming with YMCA at Home to support health and well-being at home
- We have maintained our support for our most vulnerable community members by delivering programs for immigrant adults facing unemployment and youth at risk
- Supported YMCA Staff facing financial hardship as a result of facility closures
