Once you’ve registered online, it’s time to get fundraising! While it may seem daunting at first, these tips and tricks will help you strengthen your fundraising efforts, get you great prizes, and support a good cause.

Make a personal donation first

Be the first to donate to your team! Make your donation an example for your friends, family and coworkers to follow. They’ll be inspired by your personal commitment!

Personalize your donation page

Use your personal donation page to tell others why you are raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto. Maybe you had a mentor help you reach your full potential; perhaps you wish you had someone to see your value when you were younger; or maybe you just want to show your skills as a ping pong master! Hey, we don't judge. 

Shout it from the rooftops!

Let people know that you are participating in the event and why! Share it on your social media and let your networks know that it is a fundraising tournament to not only support children and youth in Toronto, but also they can make a donation and attend!

Ask and you will receive

If you don't ask, you don't get. Make sure you ask your coworkers, classmates, family and friends to donate using the online email tools. Send a personal note asking them to donate to your fundraising efforts, and tell them why empowering the youth of today is important to you. That will help rally their enthusiasm!

Set your goals high

Think big! Raising money for this cause is a personal commitment but it’s also empowering. Every match made at BBBST costs around $1,500, so every dollar you fundraise will go directly toward finding a mentor for a child on the waiting list. Go to your personal fundraising page to update your fundraising goal at any time.

Think outside the box!

Get creative with your fundraising! Host a Beer Pong tournament at your house and ask everyone to bring a small donation. Have coworkers donate to participate in casual Fridays at the office. Host a pub crawl and challenge people to dress up! The possibilities are endless, and everyone is reminded they are donating to a worthy cause.
