What is Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids?
Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids is Toronto’s most unique waterfront fundraising event! Every spring, participants paddle and portage the Toronto waterfront to raise funds that help send at-risk children and youth to overnight summer camps across Ontario! Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids is your opportunity to be a member of a special group of people who want to help create an impact on a child’s life through summer camp – an experience for children who otherwise wouldn’t get the chance.
Since 2006, Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids has brought together camp enthusiasts, former campers and portagers of all skill levels to raise funds that help create leaders through summer camp. Today, Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids involves over 130 paddlers and portagers, who travel 14 km over land and water to support Amici campers and bring awareness to the overwhelming benefits of summer camp programs. Over $500,000 has been raised by Canoe Heads participants to date, funding over 500 summer camp experiences for deserving children.
Summer 2016 marks Amici's 50th year of sending kids to camp. If you’re like us, when you think about camp, you think back to meeting life-long friends, learning new skills, building confidence and conquering fears. Camp has the power to unlock kids’ potential and gives kids the opportunity to become leaders. That's exactly what Amici has done for 50 years. Join us as we celebrate 50 years of building leaders, and toast to 50 more! To learn more about Amici's 50th anniversary initiatives, call us at 416.588.8026.
