1.  What is Walk for Lupus Ontario?

Walk for Lupus Ontario is Lupus Ontario’s largest provincial fundraising and awareness event.  It began over 14 years ago with a single walk (previously Walk a Block) and has grown into an event involving thousands of participants throughout Ontario.

2.   Who is Lupus Ontario?

Lupus Ontario is a team of caring and enthusiastic volunteers and staff who are passionately committed to helping those with lupus live longer and better by raising funds that deliver vital support, education, awareness and research.

3.  When does Walk for Lupus Ontario take place?

Walk for Lupus Ontario takes place during the months of May, June and July.  However should you want to organize a walk before or after the mentioned months, please contact Lupus Ontario at 905-
415-1099 or toll free, 1-877-240-1099.

4.  How do I register for a Walk Location?

To participate in a Walk, click on the icon located at the top of the screen “Register”.  Follow the prompts to complete the registration process.  You can fundraise as an individual or participant on a team.  You can also register as a Team Captain.

5.  How do I support a participant or a team?

Click on “Find a Walk” then click on Participant or Team – enter the name of the Participant or Team.
This should bring you to the Participant’s or Team’s page for donation.

6.  Is there a minimum I must raise to participate in the Walk?

There is no minimum amount you need to raise to participate in Walk for Lupus Ontario. However, we do ask you try to raise funds of at least $100.

7.  How do I organize a Walk?

Contact Lupus Ontario and speak to the Fundraising & Events Coordinator and they will assist with your new walk location set up.  Please contact  jbutler@lupusontario.org or call 905-415-1099 or Toll Free 1-877-240-1099.

8.  Is there a registration fee?

There is no registration fee.

9.    Is there a rain date for the Walk?

Walk for Lupus Ontario takes place rain or shine.

10. What is a personal fundraising page?

It is your public fundraising page on the Walk for Lupus Ontario website and your best tool to help you promote your participation and fundraise on behalf of the Walk for Lupus Ontario campaign.

11. I made a donation online but have not received a tax receipt, what do I do?

Contact Lupus Ontario at 1-877-240-099 or 905-415-1099 or email the Events Coordinator at jbutler@lupusontario.org.

12.  I am having issues with the Walk for Lupus Ontario website or the      Mobile App?

13.  What are the benefits of the Walk for Lupus Ontario Mobile App?

The Walk for Lupus Ontario is Ontario's most significant annual fundraising event. Walk for Lupus is leveraging the power of mobile technology to enable this participants to fundraise on behalf of Lupus Ontario from your phone!

Participants can use this app to:

- Track donations on an individual fundraising thermometer
- View personalized event day information like dates, times, location and map
- Access your phone's address books to easily send emails to friends and family
- Share personal page links & message on Twitter
- View and post messages on their message board
- Learn more about Lupus Ontario
- Upload images form their phone photo library to their personal page

14. Why should I encourage donors to donate on-line?

When donors make their donations on-line, they receive an instant tax receipt and thank you email. The donation amount shows immediately on your fundraising page and you do not have to worry about handling cash, cheques or credit card information.
