Parking
Please note there will be no parking available and we are encouraging all participants to take alternate means of transportation. Monarch Park is a short walk from both the Coxwell and Greenwood subway stations.
Tournament Details
Michael Garron Hospital Cup: Kick the Stigma will be the premier fundraising event of its kind—an all-day soccer tournament where teams compete while raising money to support our neighbours affected by mental health and addiction. Participants will enjoy an entire day filled with games, skill competitions, music, entertainment.
All funds raised through pledges and donations will support the hospital’s redevelopment of our mental health services to create better healing spaces for our most vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours.
Team captains will set the team’s fundraising targets—the more you raise, the better your chances of winning prizes like sporting event and concert tickets, exclusive experiences and cool gear.
Tournament Overview
The tournament will have 3 Divisions and a total of 48 teams, each team can have 7 – 10 players. There is a registration fee of $50 per player and the minimum fundraising goal per team is $3,000.
Teams will be guaranteed three twenty minute games to work their way to the finals and the chance to win the Michael Garron Cup. Each team is required to have at least two male and two female team member on the field at all times.
Each player will receive a jersey at registration the day of the tournament personalized with their Team name.
Divisions
Competitive Division
Self-described as players with advanced soccer knowledge and skill with benefits including game play on premium fields and top prizing. All players must be over 18 years of age.
Recreational Division
Self-described as new, recreational or intermediate with a focus on fun over winning and a variety of exciting prizes. There are not any age limits in this division.
Junior Division
Players aged 14 to 17 with parental consent for participation. A minimum of 4 teams will be required for the Division to proceed. If the minimum is not met your team will be contacted by the organizing committee regarding alternative options. Junior Division teams will not be able to play in any of the Adult Divisions. All teams are required to meet the $3,000 fundraising minimum.
